- SPECIALIZED CONSULTATIONS: All our consultants are American board certified in Endocrinology with decades of experience in treatment of diabetes and its complications. They provide a comprehensive evaluation and up to date management of this disease.
- DIABETES EDUCATION: Diabetes is a disease that requires a team approach for its management. This education is patient centered but also involves the immediate family members. The Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at Dubai Health Authority provides the entire range of this education from a one-on-one session all the way to group classes based on individual requirements. Our highly qualified educators are well versed in all the modalities of imparting this education.
- EXERCISE EVALUATION: A unit is being established for the evaluation of exercise capability of every patient unless contraindicated. An exercise physiologist will be supervising this evaluation.
- THE JOSLIN VISION NETWORK: This unique technology developed by Joslin Diabetes Center Ophthalmologists obtains retinal images in 3-D without the use of pupil dilating eye drops. This helps prevent blindness from diabetes, one of the leading causes of blindness in the world.
- STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY: Our entire team of health care providers has access to the most recent technology to provide comprehensive diabetes care to the patient. This includes the use of insulin delivery systems, continuous glucose monitoring devices and other similar technologies. The aim is to improve the management of this disease.
- FUTURE PLANS include management of gestational diabetes, pediatric endocrinology and establishing a robust educational program not only for the healthcare providers but also the general public.
